01 · The Challenge

Too much to monitor. Too little attention.

Subsystem health, shift production, alerts, work mode, and site position—all tracked while running the machine. Gloves, glare, and vibration demand large, high-contrast targets.

  • Cognitive load. Too many signals competing for attention at once.
  • Drill-down depth. A mid-shift fault can't require three taps to find.
  • Safe actions. Work mode changes affect hydraulics—they need confirmation, not accidental toggles.
HYD-1042 fires mid-shift. Recommended action and fault detail need to surface in under two glances.

Overview anchors the shift. Everything else drills down from there. Grade guidance lives in Grade Assist on the same hardware—separate product, same display.
